Bio
After graduating from Vassar College in 2012, Alix Carney (she/her) began her healthcare career working as a Paramedic in her hometown of Greenville, SC. Her work in community-based medicine fostered a passion for whole-person and patient-centered care, leading her down a path toward midwifery. Alix graduated from Columbia University in 2021 with her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Midwifery and is excited to be back in the South serving her community once again.
As a midwife, Alix is committed to the promotion and practice of evidence-based, anti-racist, and inclusive sexual and reproductive healthcare in order to improve outcomes for all families. She has completed training as an Integrative Lactation and Feeding Specialist. She loves helping families achieve their infant feeding goals!
When she is not in the office or at the hospital, Alix is spending time with her family, including her husband, son, and dog, Murrie. She enjoys spending time outdoors, reading fiction, and playing board games.
