Bio
Jodie's path to becoming a certified nurse-midwife is as interesting as it is admirable! It all started after she completed her bachelor's in nursing at Florida State and landed her first job as a nurse working in a pediatric intensive care unit.
While working difficult cases, Jodie realized more with each passing day how important it was for all children to have care. So, she traveled to Ethiopia and Tanzania, where she provided critical medical care to rural communities.
During her time in Africa, Jodie also discovered that she had a natural gift for women's healthcare and that she enjoyed welcoming new life into the world. Upon her return to Florida, she switched gears to become a labor & delivery nurse.
However, Jodie wanted to expand her skill set so she could help even more women and children. She applied and was accepted to NYU, where she earned her master of science in nurse-midwifery. Jodie spent two additional years practicing as a certified nurse-midwife, lactation consultant and labor coach in a low-risk birth center in New York before relocating to the Atlanta area.
Today, Jodie is an important part of our team here at Peachtree Women's Clinic. She is passionate about providing midwifery care and strives to provide each woman with a positive, satisfying birth experience. Jodie has an interest in women who are experiencing mental health issues during pregnancy or postpartum depression and is also a certified lactation consultant.
Jodie is currently accepting new OB patients at our Sandy Springs, Alpharetta, and Cumming locations.
